Council AI respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Council AI mobile application.

By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Overview

Council AI is designed with a local-first and privacy-focused architecture.

Your conversations are primarily stored on your own device.

We do not sell your data and we do not use your conversations to train AI models.

2. Information We Collect

Council AI does not require you to create an account to use the app.

The app may process the following information:

• Messages you type in conversations

• Images you attach in chats

• Basic technical information required for the app to function, such as device and app version

We do not intentionally collect personal identifiers such as your name, phone number or email unless you choose to contact us for support.

3. Local Storage

Your chat history, messages and conversation state are stored locally on your device.

Council AI does not automatically upload your full chat history to our servers.

4. Use of Third Party AI Providers

This conversation may be sent to third-party AI services for processing

When you use Council AI, parts of your conversation and prompts are securely sent to trusted third-party AI providers, including OpenAI and Anthropic (provider of the Claude models), so that multiple perspectives and responses can be generated for you. This data is used strictly to run your current Council session and to generate the replies you see in the app.

Your messages are processed in an anonymized manner and are not linked to your identity by these providers. The third-party services do not use your conversations to train their models, and the content is deleted after processing in line with their data-handling policies. Any other data related to your use of Council AI — such as your session history, saved insights, or preferences — remains on your device and is not shared with third-party services.

Only the minimum content required to generate a response is sent. We do not include personally identifiable information in requests.

These providers process the data only to generate your response.

Your conversations are not used by Council AI to train any AI models.

5. Anonymisation and Data Handling

Before sending requests for AI processing, Council AI removes direct identifiers and does not attach your identity to the request.

The data sent for processing cannot be used by Council AI to identify you personally.

6. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

• Generate AI responses

• Maintain conversation continuity inside your device

• Improve app stability and performance

We do not use your chats for advertising or profiling.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data.

Your data is shared only with third party AI service providers for the sole purpose of generating responses.

We may disclose information if required by law.

8. Data Retention

Your chat data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app.

Council AI does not maintain a central copy of your conversation history.

9. Images

If you choose to send an image in a chat, the image may be sent to an AI provider for visual understanding in order to generate a reply.

Images are used only for that purpose.

10. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect data processed by the app.

However, no system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for securing your own device.

11. Children’s Privacy

Council AI is not intended for use by children under the age required by local law without parental permission.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Educational and AI Nature of the App

Council AI uses artificial intelligence to generate responses.

All characters are simulated and are not real people.

The app is intended for educational and exploratory use only.

13. Your Rights

You can delete your conversations at any time from within the app.

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your device.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

Any changes will be reflected within the app or on our official website.

Your continued use of the app after changes are made means you accept the updated policy.
